SILVER LAKE - A Silver Lake man is in critical condition after a Wednesday evening accident near Silver Lake.
Donald R. Jenkins, 46, was ejected from the vehicle he was driving when his sport utility vehicle went off the road and rolled several times. The 5:45 p.m. accident occurred on CR 750W, near CR 1000S.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department press release, Jenkins' vehicle first went off the east side of the road, where it struck a mailbox. Jenkins then apparently overcorrected, then went off the west side of the roadway and rolled over.
Jenkins was first taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, from where he was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Assisting at the scene were personnel from Burket Fire Department and Mentone and Multi-Township emergency medical services.
The accident remains under investigation.
