PIERCETON – Warsaw and Kosciusko County drug units arrested a Silver Lake man on meth charges Thursday in Pierceton. According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department release, the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and the Warsaw Police Narcotics Unit, acting on an investigative drug tip, responded Thursday to the Pierceton area. Warsaw and Kosciusko officers enlisted the assistance of the Pierceton Police Department and initiated a traffic stop on Brian Lee Slone, 37, Silver Lake, as he left his employment at approximately 3 p.m. Officers summoned a Warsaw Police Department K-9 unit to the scene, at which point approximately two grams of finished methamphetamine was found on Slone. Also discovered during the traffic stop was a juvenile child. Officers contacted the Department of Child Services and the mother took possession of the child. Slone was arrested and preliminarily charged with felony possession of meth, along with neglect of a dependent. His bond was set at $2,000. Thursday’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Warsaw Police Narcotics Unit, Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, Warsaw Police Department, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
