Silver Lake Gets Grant to Clean Sewers

Posted
SILVER LAKE - Silver Lake has received a federal grant the town used to buy a machine to clean storm sewers.

The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development presented a $12,170 USDA Community Facility Grant to the town last week. The money was used to buy a vacuum and hydro-excavation unit to clean the town’s storm water sewers.

“These grants are in keeping with the mission of USDA Rural Development, which is to provide equity and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure,” said Philip Lehmkuhler, USDA Rural Development Indiana State Director. “USDA Rural Development is committed to improving the quality of life in rural Indiana. When rural Indiana makes progress, all of Indiana benefits.”
