Fires Strike Silver Lake This Morning
Little information was available at press time today regarding two fires in the Silver Lake Fire Department jurisdiction. Firefighters were called at 4:08 a.m. today to the Parker Farm on CR 450W, north of Ind. 14, where a barn was reported to be on fire. The blaze was out of control when firefighters arrived, and crews were on the scene until nearly 11 a.m. Meanwhile, a fire broke out at the South Central Emergency Medical Services building on the east edge of town, where damage is reportedly minor. That call came in at 4:56 a.m. Assisting at the scene of the barn fire were crews from Burket, Sidney, Claypool and Henry Twp. fire departments. South Central EMS was on the scene as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
