Posted

SILVER LAKE - Travis Marsh was boosted to full-time marshal status at Silver Lake after working for the town on a part-time basis since June.

The Silver Lake Town Council on Tuesday approved a one-year contract with Marsh. The annual salary for the job is $24,000. Marsh also works as a police officer for the town of Pierceton, but town officials did not indicate whether he would continue to work both jobs.

In other business, the council approved $1,500 for trimming trees along tree lawns in town.

At next month's meeting, the council will pass a resolution to cut the 1996 and/or 1997 budget by $26,000. Also planned for discussion in October is an amendment to ordinance #106 regarding the placement of two residences on one property.

The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 in the town hall.
