SILVER LAKE - The Silver Lake Education Foundation is hosting an open meeting April 13 at 6 p.m. in the Silver Lake Town Hall to discuss the possibility of a charter school in the Silver Lake area.
Community members are invited to bring with them their ideas of an ideal school."What if you could create the school of your dreams?" asks Steve Jungbauer, member of Silver Lake Education Foundation. Jungbauer and others of the foundation seek community members' input as the development of a charter school is in the works. The foundation wants to better understand the educational needs of the community and hopes those interested in the development of a charter school in the Silver Lake area will attend the open meeting and share their ideas.
This informational meeting also will answer questions concerning the application process of a charter, how a charter school differs from a public school, how a charter school can be specifically designed to meet the needs of a community and the development of a survey to be given to the community.
