Last year, Marge's Marina, West Warren Avenue, Silver Lake, requested their beer and wine dealer permit be held in escrow.
Thursday, the Kosciusko County Alcohol Beverage Commission approved for it to be held in escrow for another year.
Excise Officer Patty Fleck said a permit can be held in escrow up to two years. After two years, the permit holder must get rid of it or use it. While in escrow, the permit can be activated at any time.
Marge's Marina, Fleck said, is a seasonal business and "I look for him to open it back up in April."
When a business with an alcohol permit closes down, even for a season, Fleck said, the permit has to be put into escrow if it's not transferred or sold.
The ABC also approved the renewal for Marge's Marina's permit.
Transfers of stock for South Shore Golf Club's beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits were approved. There were no remonstrators. South Shore Golf Club is on Ind. 13 in Syracuse.
In other business, the ABC approved renewals for:
• Stacy's Sport Inn, Ind. 15S, Leesburg, beer, wine and liquor retailer permit.
• Jimmy's Restaurant and Lounge, North Himes Street, North Webster, beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits.
• Loyal Order of Moose, West Lake Street, Warsaw, beer, wine and liquor retailer permit.
• Good Times Food & Spirits, Maye Street, Warsaw, beer, wine and liquor retailer permit.
• Mosaique Restaurant, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw, beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales permits.
• Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Lake City Highway, Warsaw, beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits.
• Rex's Rendezvous, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw, beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits.
• At the tail end of last month's meeting, the commission approved the beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits renewal for R.C.'s Pier, Syracuse.
Members of the ABC present at Thursday's meeting included Gordon Vanator, Kenneth Johnson and Fleck. Not present was chairman Darwin Call. They meet at 1 p.m. in the Kosciusko County courthouse, Warsaw, on the first Thursday of every month. The meeting is open to the public.
