I don't know about others in town, but I for one am really tired of Brenda Wadkins' letters to the editor.
As a former town employee from July 16, 2004, to June 16, 2006, under Angela Glass's supervision, I can tell you for a fact that there was no wrong doing as Brenda Wadkins continues to insinuate. During my employment, and after my employment, Wadkins has used the open door policy to harass Angie Glass.
Monthly, Wadkins requested from 100 to 150 copies of every report that Glass generated in that office. If they were not ready for her when she wanted them, she turned her in to the State Board of Accounts for noncompliance to her request. She has gone to the prosecutors office to have Angie investigated, she went to the Indiana State Police in 2005 as David Glass stated in his letter to the editor on Sept. 17, 2007, again supposedly Wadkins found money missing - no report was filed. I believe that this could be verified by Alan Lawrence who was sent to the office to investigate. Wadkins or Howell, previous town clerk, could provide you with a phone number for the state police if you care to verify this.
On Oct. 11, 2005, I attended the town board meeting where Kackie Tiede Chrapliwy, financial ambassador for the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, clearly explained to Wadkins, other citizens and the town board that the records were in order and that no monies were missing. Guess what? Wadkins was not satisfied.
Ron Jones, town board president, stated in his letter to the editor Sept. 13, 2007, the accounts and records for the town were in order according to the auditor's result. Guess what? Wadkins still was not satisfied.
Apparently, Wadkins and Howell know more than the financial ambassador, the State Board of Accounts, the auditor's office and the Indiana State Police, so let the harassment continue.
Wadkins and Howell are not interested in the good of the town, they are only interested in degrading the town and the people of the town, and harassing and humiliating Glass, because an election was lost four years ago. Never any positive comments, always negative.
Glass contributed much of her time to bringing the Family Dollar Store to town, along with Craig Hollopeter. She aided and assisted the town board members in bringing new restaurants, fixing and repairing sidewalks, improving the interior and exterior of the town building - all which have contributed to the prosperity and looks of the town.
Many of you commented to me how rudely you were treated under Howell's previous tenure as town clerk. Is that what you want again, or do you want to move forward? I suggest you cast your vote and re-elect Angela Glass for town clerk in the next election.
