NORTH?MANCHESTER – A house fire in North Manchester late Monday night started in the kitchen. Sidney Fire Department Chief Jon Engelhaupt said the small fire in the kitchen area of the home at 3512 E. CR 1200S, North Manchester, was knocked down pretty quick. The fire department was called to the scene at about 10:42 p.m. Monday. There were no injuries, and Engelhaupt could not provide a damage estimate. He said a different person lived in the home than owned it, but did not have names of the occupants or owner. While it started in the kitchen, he said he did not have a cause for the fire as of Tuesday afternoon. About 25 firemen were at the scene. Chester Township and Silver Lake fire departments provided full assists, with Silver Lake setting up on a dry hydrant and Chester providing a tanker, engine and manpower. The American Red Cross assisted the family.
