NORTH MANCHESTER — Playing their first game without senior Jacob Thompson Friday, the Wawasee boys basketball team got a 75-60 win at Manchester. After suffering season-ending shoulder injuries the past two seasons, Thompson was injured once again Saturday at Angola, playing in just one quarter. With the amount of time he will be out unknown, the Wawasee Warriors moved on, improving to 2-1 with their win over the Squires, who fell to 0-3. In the win, sophomore Alex Clark paced the Warriors with 17 points, followed closely by junior Chase Myers’ 16, senior Ryndan Aaron’s 15 and freshman Chase Rookstool’s 10. Sophomore Gage Reinhard, the quarterback on the Warriors football team, was dishing out passes on the hardwood as well, leading the way with eight to go with a team-high four steals. In the loss, Manchester was led by junior Clayton Petrie, who netted a game-high 22 points to go with his four assists and three steals. Also for the Squires, junior Claudel Dickantone had 14 points, followed by senior Neil Underwood’s nine and sophomore Lucas Schilling’s eight. Wawasee is right back in action tonight against West Noble, while Manchester is off until Dec. 11 when it hosts Churubusco.
