A North Webster man who claimed to have been shot Oct. 30 admitted Wednesday he shot himself.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department officers responded to a call of a shooting at 35 EMS W 23 C Lane in North Webster Oct. 30.

Upon arrival they found John Miller, 30, who lived at that residence, at a neighbor's house.

Miller claimed a man approached him, asked "Are you John?" and when Miller responded, the man shot him once in the chest.

Miller was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne and was released several days later.

Wednesday afternoon, KCSD Det./Sgt. Todd Sautter said Miller admitted to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On Oct. 29, the day before Miller shot himself, he filed a report at KCSD stating he had been threatened several times, and that a white pickup truck drove past his home several times.

The investigation has been forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Any other information, including Miller's motive, currently is not being released.
