ROCHESTER - Shirley Atkinson Scheffer, 66, of 2342 E. CR 200N, Rochester, died at 6:40 a.m. Dec. 1, 2009, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born July 7, 1943, in Nebraska, to C. Cecil and June Warren Atkinson. On June 11, 1961, she married Harry L. Bramble, who died June 9, 1997. On Oct. 23, 2004, in Rochester, she married Donald Scheffer, who survives.
She was a homemaker and ran a home day care service for more than 20 years. She was a member of Riverview Community Church and the Logansport Doll Club.
Also surviving are two daughters, Penny (and spouse Ron) Shireman, Rochester, and Lori (and spouse Shawn) Eaton, Caledonia, Mich.; two granddaughters; three sisters: Carol (and spouse Dean) Jensen, Rochester, and Donna (and spouse Otis) Reynolds and Darlene Bulington (and friend Tim Tomicello) all of Remington; and two brothers, Larry Atkinson, Monticello, and Steve Atkinson, Pontiac, Ill. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Rodney Ruberg officiating. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Remington Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
