Shirley A. Eyrich, 77, of Bourbon, passed away at 8:50 p.m. April 10, 2013, in her residence, in the care of her family. She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Tippecanoe, to Ernest I. and Leota Velda Haney Dickey. She was a lifelong Bourbon area resident and a 1953 graduate of Tippecanoe High School. On Sept. 12, 1954, in Tippecanoe, she married Dale F. Eyrich, who died Feb. 5, 1991. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She also worked numerous other places that included: Bourbon Dairy Queen, JC Penny, Bourbon Elevator and most recently alongside her son at Doug’s Printing, Bourbon. She was very active as a member of First United Church of Christ, Bourbon, where she served in many capacities throughout the years. For many years she has been involved with the Marshall County 4-H program, helping her children and grandchildren with their projects, and she was a 4-H Leather leader. She also was a member of the first Emergency Medical Service of Bourbon and served her community for several years. She was a past president of the PTA at Triton School Corp., a member of the Tippecanoe Home Economics Club and the former Betsy Ross Club. She enjoyed embroidery and her sewing club and watching her grandchildren in all their events. Surviving are five loving children: Marcia (and spouse Craig) Spaid, Carmel; Ernest Eyrich, Omaha, Neb.; twins Rebecca Carswell and Richard (and spouse Tina) Eyrich and Douglas (and spouse Barb) Eyrich, all of Bourbon; grandchildren: Melissa Stallbaum; Daniel (and spouse Megumi) Spaid; Riley Dale and Bryce Carswell; Tyson Horter; and Tyra, James Dale, Olivia and Chase Eyrich; great-grandchildren: Braxton, Mckinley, Kyleigh and Zagan; two sisters: Esther (and spouse Raymond) Morrison, Culver, and Diane (and spouse Ned) Crum, Scottsville, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Sharon Dickey, Plymouth; and companion, Bob Osburn, Akron. She also was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Greg Carswell; a sister, Verna Faye Dickey; and a brother, James Dickey. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Church of Christ, 407 N. Main St., Bourbon, with Susan Clark officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon. Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S.
