Sheriff's Dept. Announces Promotions, New Hires

Posted

Promotions and new hirings continue at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

The retirement of Detective Sgt. Tom Brindle - who is now the civilian director of the city-county dispatch center known as "Central Dispatch" - opened a spot on the detective team. The combined dispatching center has been operational for about two weeks.

Todd Sautter, formerly a corporal with the KCSD, is the department's new detective sergeant. Sautter is a six-year veteran of the department, with three years of service with the Milford Police Department prior to joining the KCSD. Sautter assumed his new duties Aug. 1.

Deputy Chris McKeand was promoted to fill Sautter's corporal position. McKeand started his law enforcement career as a jail officer with the KCSD in 1995 and was promoted to deputy in 1997.

Jail officer Shawn Castillo, who has been with the department since 1997, fills McKeand's vacated deputy slot.

Two new jail officers, including the department's first woman, also have joined the KCSD.

Darcy Meade began his duties in July and Angela Haecker started working at the Kosciusko County Jail in August.

Both Meade and Haecker are graduates of the first class of the Kosciusko County Reserve Academy.
