Sheree Kay Konkle, 60, passed away from this life and through heaven’s gates at 10:15 a.m. May 30, 2017, in her Warsaw home surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 18, 1956, in Granite City, Ill., to Loren and Patsy Hampsey Bailey. She graduated from Jennings (Mo.) High School in 1974.
On Nov. 29, 1974, she was united in holy matrimony to Ronald “Ron” Konkle in St. Louis, Mo.
She tirelessly helped her husband as they evangelized and pastored several churches over their 42-year marriage.
One of her greatest joys in life was being a mother to her children, Daniel and Anna. Her patience and perseverance were some of her many admired qualities. She loved to play sports and also loved spending time with her daughter who loved “the great indoors.” Her children are forever in her debt for the many sacrifices she made for them. In later years, she took care of her parents – tirelessly assisting them with the needs they had.
Sheree was known for the way she enjoyed being around people. She made those around her feel welcome and important. She strove to be a witness and share God’s love with everyone she met. With her warm personality, quick smile and a heart bigger than the Grand Canyon, she was a role model to those she’s left behind.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will forever be remembered as a beloved wife, a cherished and adored mother, a wonderful daughter and sister and a loyal friend.
Surviving is her husband, the Rev. Ronald Konkle, Warsaw; a daughter, Anna Konkle, Warsaw; her parents, Loren and Patsy Bailey, Warsaw; a sister, Pam (Mike) Edens, Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Donna (John) Marsten, Foley, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Melinda Bailey, New Palestine. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Konkle (May 9, 2016) and a brother, Larry Bailey (March 22, 2015).
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, with a friend of the family, the Rev. Robert Thompson, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Titus Funeral Home.
