Shawnee LaKay Elder, 32, Warsaw, passed away at 8:02 p.m. Sept. 18, 2014, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born Feb. 24, 1982, in Warsaw, to Richard and Glenda Elder Mattern. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. She was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom who loved spending time with her children, nephews, nieces and friends. She loved taking care of people, especially her family, and was a very giving person. She also enjoyed watching her grandpa play shuffleboard. She loved driving around and lived life to the fullest. She was a member of the American Legion Post #258 Ladies Auxiliary, Pierceton. Surviving are her son, Richard Michael Honeycutt, Warsaw; her daughter, Dezarae LaKay Elder, Warsaw; her parents, Warsaw; a sister, Jackie Renee (and spouse Seth) Callaway, North Manchester; her brother, Dustin Wayne (and spouse Martha) Baldridge, Warsaw; grandparents, Sandra Kay Elder, Warsaw, and Jim and Nancy Rogers, Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven aunts and uncles; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glen Elder and A.J. and Eva Marie Baldridge. A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 18, 2014, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
