PLYMOUTH - Shawn A. Schuler, 43, of 4424 Ind. 110, Rochester, passed away at 11:11 a.m. Feb. 7, 2011, in his residence.
He was born Nov. 25, 1967, in Gary, to Leon A. and Arlene E. Tarchala Schuler. On Nov. 18, 1995, in La Paz, he married Jennifer R. Bond, who survives.
He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1986. He was employed as an electrical contractor and aslo worked in the shipping and receiving department at PiRod. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War. He enjoyed participating in educational shooting riffle events. Spending time with his family was a very important part of his life. He and his oldest son attended many "Apple Seed" events together.
Also surviving are three sons, Samuel Lee, Matthew Ryan and Nathan Dale Schuler, all of Rochester; his mother, Arlene E. Schuler, Angola; three brothers: Craig Schuler, Plymouth; Chris Schuler, Angola; and Doug Schuler, North Webster; three sisters: Becky Brehamer, Crown Point; Rhonda Wellsandt, Post Falls, Idaho; and Laura Larimore, Portage; and his father- and mother-in-law, Ken and Laura Bond, Silver Lake. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon A. Schuler.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Peter Albertson officiating and with military honors by members of American Legion Post 27 following the service. Burial will be at a later date.
