Sharon Lee Devenney Stinchfield Scott, 69, of Anaheim, Calif., died at 10:46 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008, in Cuddle Care Hospice Home, Orange, Calif., after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Warsaw, to Robert Ray and Inez Marie Galbreath Devenney.

She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1957, and Indiana Business College, Fort Wayne. She and her husband spent several years operating a hunting and fishing lodge in Siouz Narrows, Ontario, Canada. Living in California for the past 35 years, she retired from the Orange County Social Services after 25 years as a case worker.

Surviving are a brother, Stephen (and spouse Barbara) Devenney, Warsaw; a sister-in-law, Paula Devenney, Warsaw; two nephews, Tom and Brett Devenney, both of Warsaw; a niece, Jody Noble, Lansing, Mich.; and six great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Devenney; and two nephews, Bobby and Mathew Devenney.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, corner of Market and High streets, with Pastor David Heim officiating. Her ashes will be buried at sea at a later date.
