Sharon L. Hand, a resident of Grace Village in Winona Lake, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born on Sept. 26, 1950, to William F. “Bill” Hand and Mary Leedy Hand, Sharon graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1968. She then pursued a degree in nursing at Central Christian College of Kansas.
Through most of her adult life, Sharon resided in Kansas City, Kan., and St. Louis, Mo. After several years of nursing, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a flight attendant and joined TWA. In 2019, she returned to the Warsaw area to be closer to her family after suffering a stroke.
Sharon was known for her independent and vibrant personality. She had a deep appreciation for beauty in the world. She loved animals, botanical gardens, travel and the color purple. She was a loving aunt and especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Sharon will be dearly remembered by her brothers, Ron (Susan) Hand, Spartanburg, S.C.; Terry (Terese) Hand, Warsaw; and her stepmother, Elaine Hand, Winona Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Bill Hand.
A private family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw to celebrate Sharon’s life. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
