SYRACUSE – Sharon Batesla, 76, Syracuse, passed peacefully Aug. 24, 2013, at the IU Goshen Hospital. She was born Jan. 10, 1937, in Cromwell, to Albert and Mabel Maggart. On Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1977, she married Ed Batesla, who survives. She held various secretarial positions throughout her career, as well as serving the Wawasee community as an EMT for 13 years. Also surviving are two loving daughters, Wanda (and spouse Scott) Brown, Syracuse, and Kella (and spouse Joe) England, Staten Island, N.Y.; a son, Gregory (and spouse Suzanne) Batesla, Texas; as well as her only grandson, Kellie Brown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janis, and a brother, Max. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial immediately following.
