Sharadene L. ‘Sheree’ LongSharadene L. “Sheree” Long, 67, of Syracuse, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at her home.
She was born on June 9, 1954, in South Bend, to Karl Russel and Joan Louise Ort Smith.
She grew up in South Bend, graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend, and moved to Syracuse in 1973. She was married on Sept. 29, 1973, in South Bend, to Greg L. Long, who survives. She retired from Ace Pest Control in North Webster and formerly worked at Hooks Drug Store in Mishawaka and Ligonier, Gropps Fish in Syracuse and Superior Sample in Ligonier.
She formerly attended the Gospel Center in South Bend and Stones Hill Community Church in Ligonier.
She is survived by husband, Greg Long, of Syracuse; two sons: Joseph (Elizabeth) Long and David Long, both of Cromwell; two grandchildren: McKenzie Long and William Long; mother, Joan Smith, of Kendallville; and brother, Stephen Smith, of Auburn.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5 in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Private burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery.
