My wife and I never write to your paper but felt like we should respond to the nasty letter of that Beatty woman.
We have known Mr. Ellis for a number of years from painting for us. We have found Mr. Ellis honest, very nice and very pleasant to be around. We knew that woman did not know Mr. Ellis so when we called him about some painting only to find out he had retired. But while we had him on the phone we asked him about her. (He said he didn't know her and she sure didn't know him.)
We already knew that her letter was nasty and uncalled for. Shame on her. If she didn't know Mr. Ellis it must have been someone that put her up to her letter.
We live in Fort Wayne but have a house on the lake here and we thought we needed to write since Mr. Ellis did not reply. My wife and I are in our 70s and both of us are pretty good judges of character. Too bad that Beatty woman is not. Shame on her.
