Sexual Assault Alleged At CampgroundA Michigan man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly getting a minor drunk and forcing her to have sex at a local campground.
Scott Allen Diggs, 40, Roseville, Mich., was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:24 a.m. Wednesday for child seduction. His preliminary bond was set at $10,250.
Court documents filed Aug. 16 list the charges against him as child seduction, a level 5 felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 4, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy James Smith responded to a sexual assault at Jellystone Campground in Pierceton.
Upon arrival, he spoke with a woman who said she and her husband, Diggs, have had the victim since September. The victim is between the ages of 16 to 18.
The woman said she spent the night with family and Diggs and the victim had stayed in the camper. When she woke up Aug. 4, she found messages from the victim stating that Diggs had her drink alcohol and they had sex.
The victim told police Diggs gave her beer and shots of liquor. She got sick and went to the bathroom to vomit. Diggs came back to the bathroom to console her by holding her hair back while she threw up.
She went back to the bedroom to lay down, became sick again and returned to the bathroom. Diggs came into the bathroom and began rubbing her leg and then unbuttoning her jean shorts.
When the victim was done vomiting, she went to the couch to lie down and Diggs followed her, began fondling her and took off his clothes. He took her clothes off and had sex with her. She told Diggs “no” but he did not stop, according to court documents.
KCSD Det. Shane Bucher spoke with Diggs who admitted to providing alcohol and touching her and kissing her.
The court document states Diggs admitted he failed to protect the victim.
