Motorists downtown were faced with an unexpected detour today when a two-square-block area downtown was closed for the repair of a sanitary sewer manhole that collapsed.
"We discovered the collapse about 3 p.m. Tuesday," said Kim Leake, Warsaw public works superintendent. "It's about 11 feet down. We have it dug out and have gotten pre-cast concrete manhole sections from Goshen this morning. The work should be completed sometime late this evening."
Portions of Market and Buffalo streets were closed for the work.
