Senior At Lakeland Succeeds In Academics And Sports

Posted
Parker Stewart is a senior at Lakeland Christian Academy and has attended LCA for six years.

During that time, he has excelled in both academics and soccer. He has grown into a leader and a mentor both on and off the field.

Parker was named Northern Indiana Soccer Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District and Academic All State. He ranked third in scoring in Indiana and 20th nationally with 41 goals. His 101 career goals made him the second-highest scorer in LCA’s history, but the highest scorer since LCA joined the ISHAA. He has also been team captain for the past three years and currently an Fellowship of Christian Athletes co-leader. Stewart has committed to play soccer at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Stewart not only excels in soccer; he is also very successful in academics. Stewart is a National Honor Society member, posting a 3.86 cumulative GPA while earning over 60 college credits through Grace College. He is on trajectory to earn an honor’s diploma and graduate with an associate degree.

Parker is genuinely friendly and humble. Being around him, one would never know he is the leading scorer on the soccer team, much less 20th in the nation. He is competitive, but not arrogant. He has a happy-go-lucky personality and people truly enjoy being around him.

During basketball season, he is one of LCA’s biggest fans and can be seen in the student section during every game rooting for his friends.

One of Stewarts’s greatest strengths is his relationship with his parents, Scott and Jennifer. That relationship has provided a level-headed young man who has a very bright future ahead of him. LCA is proud to have had Stewart as a student for the last six years and are excited to see how God uses him at IWU and beyond.
