Semi Rolls; Driver Unhurt

Posted

A semi truck rolled over this morning on the eastbound off-ramp of U.S. 30 at Ind. 15.

The Warsaw Police Department reported that the accident occurred around 8:30 this morning at the intersection of Ind. 15 and U.S. 30.

Police report the semi was apparently going too fast to make the ramp and tipped over.

According to police, the weight of the load of bales of paper the driver was hauling may have shifted.

The truck tipped on its right side and slid down off the right side of the road.

The driver, Rehmond Fails, of Illinois, reportedly climbed out of the cab through the broken windshield. He was not injured.

The semi he was driving was registered to National Transportation Company, and the trailer he was hauling was registered to Southern Pacific Line.

The off-ramp and road were not closed because the truck was lying off the traveled portion of the road.

Some antifreeze from the semi spilled on to the road, but Multi-Township EMS and Warsaw Fire Department were able to clean it up.

The truck was seriously damaged. Crews were working to right the semi at press time.
