The draw for the 43rd annual IHSAA volleyball state tournament was held Monday morning. Locally, the Warsaw Lady Tigers will travel to Concord High School for Sectional 4, facing defending champion Elkhart Central at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 23. With a victory, Warsaw would advance to face the winner of Northridge and Concord, which play after its 5:30 p.m. contest. The bottom half of the bracket has Goshen taking on Elkhart Memorial, with the winner moving on to the championship match. The most crowded sectional for local teams will be at Fairfield. In Class 3A Sectional 21, Fairfield, a winner of 10-straight sectionals, faces Whitko on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., with the winner advancing to Saturday’s 10 a.m. semifinal against Lakeland. On Oct. 23, Tippecanoe Valley and Wawasee square off at 6 p.m., followed by West Noble and NorthWood. The two winners of that day will compete in Saturday’s other semifinal. The Manchester Lady Squires will compete in Class 2A Sectional 37 at Southwood, getting a first-round bye. Manchester will face the winner of the Oct. 21 match between Oak Hill and Lewis Cass at 11 a.m. on Oct. 25. A win by the Lady Squires would put them in the 7 p.m. championship match. In Class 1A, the Triton Lady Trojans open Sectional 51 at Culver Community High School against LaCrosse at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, followed by Argos and South Central. The winners of opening-night matches move on to play in the semifinals on Oct. 23, with the other semifinal pitting Culver against Oregon-Davis. The Sectional 51 championship match will then be at 11 a.m. on Oct. 25. At Fort Wayne Blackhawk, the Lakeland Christian Academy Lady Cougars received a bye and will face Bethany Christian at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 25, with the winner moving on to the 7 p.m. title match.
