Second Sunday Series Concert This Weekend

Posted
WINONA LAKE – The Christian Performing Artists’ Fellowship, founder and sponsor of the international annual MasterWorks Festival, announced another concert in its Second Sunday Series, and this time with a jingle bell and mistletoe theme.
“The team of musicians, singers and actors has been long preparing for his special annual concert, and they’re confident they have a show that will have you laughing and crying as we celebrate together the birth of our Savior over a steaming cup of hot chocolate and maybe a cookie or two,” a press release from the Fellowship states.
The fellowship holds concerts monthly for the community, and this should be one of their best, the release states. The concert will include a performance of the traditional composition “Kreisleriana” by Robert Schumann, performed by Yeon-Kyung Kim, a professional pianist from South Korea; a collection of Christmas songs together in a piano duet by couple Jonathan and Claire Keener, written by Franz Liszt; and a trumpet and piano selection written by Leopold Mozart and performed by Nicholas Whitchurch, principle trumpet of the Symphony of the Lakes.
Some of the actors will play their own original works, including “Christmas Scriptures” by Tiffany Rott and the “Jack Frost Collection” by Cody R. Arn. There also will be pieces by Barbara Kavanaugh on the cello, a piano solo by Jonathan Keener and more.
At the end of the concert, the audience will be invited to join in song with a selection of Christmas carols.
The press release states, “It all promises to be a night of fun and friendship with refreshments of cookies and warm drinks served throughout.”
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Rodeheaver Auditorium on the corner of Park Avenue and Ninth Street in Winona Lake.
The Second Sunday Series is always free and open to the public, maintaining works of classical repertoire and a unique atmosphere of worship in the idyllic community of Kosciusko, the release states.
The Second Sunday Series is a monthly tradition going back nearly 10 years.
