A second man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a robbery in Silver Lake.

Joshua Allen Amburgey, 20, South Bend, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after he reportedly went to the jail and surrendered himself. He was arrested on a warrant for aiding, abetting or inducing a robbery and is being held on $20,000 bond.

Amburgey reportedly surrendered after speaking with agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations Wednesday afternoon.

Amburgey allegedly assisted Virgil Justin Smith, 23, of Galveston, in the robbery of the Silver Lake branch of Lake City Bank June 17. Smith also was arrested for allegedly robbing banks in both North Manchester and Galveston. Smith reportedly confessed to the robberies.

Silver Lake Town Marshal Craig Hollopeter said Amburgey was a possible accomplice in the robbery, but it is unknown if Amburgey was involved in the North Manchester or Galveston robberies.

The Silver Lake Police Department was assisted in its investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Wabash County Sheriff's Department, Wabash City Police Department, North Manchester Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
