Manchester’s girls basketball season came to an end with a 36-25 loss to Northfield in the second game of Sectional 37 Wednesday night. Bailey Sewell led the Lady Squires with eight points. Celina Carter added six, Cierra Carter four, Drew Thompson three, with Brooklyn Howard and Bethany Collett adding two points each. The Lady Squires finish the season 8-15. Northfield, 11-12, advances to take on Southwood, a 67-36 winner over North Miami, in Friday’s second semifinal in Manchester. Gymnastics Wednesday in Warsaw Jazzmine Brown finished second in the all-around as the Lady Tigers fell to Plymouth, 87.225-74.025. Brown finished second on the bars and third on the beam. Katie Richard had a third-place finish on the bars, and took fourth on the vault, and was fourth in the all-around. The team will compete in the LaPorte Invitational on Saturday at noon Eastern time.
