In response to the need to fill local food banks, members of Boy Scouts of America will "Scout For Food" this Saturday across Whitley and Kosciusko counties.
Cub Scouts, boys in first through fifth grade, will stand at local grocery stores Saturday, assisting individuals by gathering their food donations and taking them to the local food bank for that community. Buy a non-perishable food item, and give it to the Cub Scouts at the front of the store.
Boy Scouts, boys ending fifth through 12th grade, will canvas their communities in a door-to-door effort Saturday. Scouts may be acting independently or in groups, to pick up the food and deliver it to their local community's food bank.
Venture Scouts, boys and girls ages 14 to 21, also will "Scout For Food" this weekend.
Because of busy weekend schedules, some Scouts may participate on an individual basis through the coming week, as well.
