December activities for Warsaw Troop 715 included the first aid training given by Scoutmaster Richard McCleary. Newer Scouts earned the First Aid Merit Badge, which is a requirement of many other badges and has to be earned before they can be completed. Scouts completed the Wood Working Merit Badge led by Ken Smith of North Manchester by making a cutting board and pen out of wood. DePuy donated a dozen safety glasses for this project. Scouts were given the badges they have earned since the Spring Award Program Dec. 12 at the Winter Merit Badge Award Program. Along with the program there was a carry-in dinner, which was enjoyed by all. Scout meetings started Monday at 7 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Warsaw. Any boy who is at last 10 years old, or has completed the fifth grade, can join Boy Scouts. See the website www.troop715.net for more details. – By Jordan Timbers, Scribe.
