Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts from across Kosciusko and Whitley Counties recently finished delivering their popcorn and collecting money from this year's popcorn sale. The popcorn sale is the main fundraiser for Boy Scouts of America.
The Scouts had a record year, selling $116,442 worth of popcorn in Kosciusko County and $73,625 in Whitley County. The figures are up more than 5 percent from last year. Two-thirds of this money goes toward Scouting activities, with that split about evenly between the Council office in Fort Wayne and the local Packs, Troops and Crews.
