NORTH WEBSTER - Boy Scouts from across Kosciusko and Whitley counties came together Friday and Saturday for the Spring Camporee at the North Webster Festival Grounds.
The theme of this year's camporee was "Survivor II," modeled after the popular television show, but using Boy Scout style events. It is the second year for the theme, as it has proven highly popular with the boys.
Scouts competed in patrols of four or five in several events, including making the tallest flagpole, running an obstacle course, high-altitude bean bag target toss, identification of indigenous poisonous plants and snakes, and more. A few younger Scouts, from area Cub Scout packs, also participated on Saturday, and some Webelos Scouts marked the event as their "crossing over" into Boy Scouts.
