Pastor Scott W. Hoskins, 62, Warsaw, gracefully accepted the promotion next to his beloved Creator on Feb. 16, 2015, in the comfort of his earthly home.
He was born in Barbourville, Ky., Sept. 22, 1952, to Betty and Sam Hoskins. He was married to his beloved life-mate, Jeri Pritchard Hoskins, who survives.
He worked as a purchasing agent for Holiday Rambler in Wakarusa before finishing his corporate career in sales at Chore-Time Brock in Milford. He then began focusing his time studying the word of God before obtaining his minister’s license. He loved serving others in prayer, fellowship and times of need.
He graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1970, and was proud to serve as the class coordinator of annual reunions. He loved his classmates very much and looked forward to the annual gatherings they shared. A Warsaw community resident for nearly 60 years, he loved his hometown dearly. He and Jeri would spend their Sundays worshipping the Lord at Warsaw Community Church (with friends) as well as Mission Point Community Church (with family).
He was also a member of a weekly Bible study with a dear group of believers who would meet at Martin’s Super Market. He also loved his dedicated group of caretakers in a very special way. His wife, two boys, sisters Rita and Linda, niece Abby, brother Jeff and cousin Wayne Ray of Newport, Ky., were all such an example of unconditional love and sacrifice.
Other family members surviving include two sons, Matthew (and spouse Leah Reed) Hoskins and William (and spouse Billy) West, all of Warsaw; three grandsons: Cameron Reed, Cole Matthew and Callen Tate Hoskins; and one granddaughter, Chloe Grace Hoskins, all of Warsaw; four sisters: Darla Hoskins (and spouse Richard) Radcliffe, California; Marsha Hoskins (and spouse Mark) Sompayrac, Virginia; Rita Hoskins (and spouse Kip) Klopfenstein, Michigan; Jacque Pritchard (and spouse Bill) Bradley, Warsaw; and one brother, Jeff (and spouse Linda) Pritchard, Winona Lake; and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
Services will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakeland Christian Academy with Pastors Kondo Simfukwe, Denny Wilson and Rod Mayer officiating.
Calling is from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
