Scott SleighterScott Sleighter, 97, of Pierceton, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Mason Health Care.

Scott was born in Warsaw on Sept. 13, 1925, the son of the late Moody and Lillian Bowen Sleighter. He graduated from Pierceton High School with the Class of ’44 and on Aug. 29, 1948, Scott married Norma Jean Sleighter, who preceded him in death on July 22, 1995, after 46 years of marriage.

Scott was in the LP gas business for over 20 years; he enjoyed a lifetime of camping and after retirement assisted in managing the Pike Lake Campground. Scott was a member of the Pierceton Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the church choir for many years; he also served on the Pierceton Volunteer Fire Department for 43 years. Scott is survived by his sons, Michael Sleighter and Richard Sleighter, both of Pierceton; grandson, Michael (Virginia) Sleighter, of Pierceton; great-grandchildren: Bryson Seitner, of Logansport; and Marcella and Lillian Sleighter, in Pierceton.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 105 S. First St., Pierceton, with Rev. David Crowley officiating. Visitation is Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
