Local attorney Scott Andrew Smith, 44, died Oct. 2, 2015, in a single-engine plane crash on the South Carolina side of Lake Hartwell in Oconee County. He was killed in a plane crash en route to the Notre Dame vs. Clemson football game Oct. 2 as he was an avid Notre Dame fan. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 13 at Warsaw Community Church, with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating. A private burial will be at Sunset Cemetery, Kokomo. Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church.
