Schotz Bringing 'A Closer Walk' To Pierceton, Webster

After 20 plus years of working for family-run businesses, Laurie Schotz decided to bring her expertise, as a performer and event planner, directly to Kosciusko County and the surrounding areas in Indiana.
Best Schotz Productions has decided to settle down in rural Indiana to enjoy the country way of life while producing family entertainment.
In just a short time, this company has lined up a band and crew to produce “A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline” as its first project, Aug. 15-18.
Instead of having the company’s debut at a traditional setting, Schotz, in affiliation with The Old Train Depot of Pierceton, decided that a unique location better suits the show and the heart of the company.
“A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline” moves to Epworth Forest Conference Center in North Webster to round out its opening week.
Schotz has worked in the entertainment and hospitality industry for more than 20 years. Starting as a singer/dancer at theme parks, next moving to cruise ships and live stunt work across America, stage productions in the large cities and well-known venue round out the performing background.
By paying attention and networking, Schotz became a choreographer/director crossing over to the production end of the business while still being seen on stage.
Carla Loy, Bearcreek Farms Resort general manager and Schotz’s superior for many years, said, “Schotz is well organized, original, flexible and a very creative asset to any project”.
Schotz was a member of Bearcreek Resort’s staff for more than nine years producing shows and developing special events. She became facility manager of the Goodtimes Theatre, added to the artistic director title, where working with incoming artist such as Branson on the Road, now provide another dimension to Best Schotz Productions, concerts.
Schotz chose the country to open her company and plans to help connect people, places and things to boost the local economy, support the community, strengthen individual’s self-esteem and create events that take audiences away from the day-to-day worries of life.
Best Schotz Productions even offers a petting zoo for young and old alike including donkeys, goat, ram and an American Mustang.
Cost for “A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline” is $35 for meal and show.
