A Silver Lake man is facing a felony charge after making bomb threats against Warsaw?Community High School in September.
Mark A. Schultz, 46, was arrested at 7:03 p.m. Thursday on charges of intimidation, a level 6 felony, according to a press release. Additional charges are anticipated in this case.
On Sept. 18 and 27, bomb threat calls were placed directly to the WCHS by an unknown subject, which the Warsaw Police Department responded to, according to the press release.
WPD searched the school along with outlying buildings where nothing was located.
WPD conducted an investigation into the origin of those calls. On Thursday, detectives spoke with Schultz, who was a person of interest.
Police say he admitted to making the false calls to create a distraction so he could commit a robbery at a local business. That robbery, however, never took place.
Schultz was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail and is currently held on a 48-hour prosecutor investigative hold. His bond is $5,250.
