School Accountability Grades Released

Ten area schools received “A’s” on the 2017 school accountability grades released by Indiana Department of Education.

Warsaw Christian School,  Scared Heart School and Lincoln Elementary all received “A’s” in 2016 as well.

Mentone Elementary, Tippecanoe Valley High School, Whitko High School, Manchester Jr.-Sr. High?School, Eisenhower Elementary, Triton Elementary School and Triton Jr.-Sr. High School  raised their grades from a “B” to an “A” in 2017.

No school in the area scored an “F” this year. Lakeland Christian Academy was given an “F” in 2016 but it was converted to a “C” on appeal.

This year, Lakeland was given a “D.” Lakeview Middle School also got a “D.”

Tippecanoe Valley Middle School and Pierceton Elementary also dropped down to “D” from an “C” in 2016. Akron Elementary remained at a “C” as in 2016.





Pierceton Elementary also dropped from a “C” to a “D” this year.

The scores are based 100 percent on the ISTEP for non-high schools. High schools also are graded on graduation rates and college preparedness.

The ISTEP is being replaced after years of educational officials complaining about the test.

• Milford School, “C,” same as 2016.

• Syracuse Elementary?School, “C,” same as 2016.

• Wawasee High School, “B,” up from a “C” last year.

Warsaw Community Schools

• Claypool Elementary School, “B,” same as 2016.

• Lakeview Middle School, “D,” same as 2016.

• Harrison Elementary, “C,” down from a “B” last year.

• Leesburg Elementary?School, “B,” same as 2016.

• Warsaw Community High School, “B,” same as 2016.

• Edgewood Middle School, “C,” down from a “B” in 2016.

• Jefferson Elementary School, “B,” same as 2016.

• Madison Elementary School, “B,” up from a “C” in 2016.

• Washington STEM Academy, “B,” same as 2016.

Whitko Community Schools Corp.

• Whitko Middle School, “C,” same as 2016.

• South Whitley?Elementary School, “C,” down from a “B” in 2016.

Manchester Community?Schools.
