VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Sarah Ewert Beach, 75, of Atlantic Shores Retirement Community, died Dec. 26, 2008, after a six-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Indianapolis, to Ross Talbot and Ellen Berenice Smith Ewert. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Captain Milton D. Beach, USN (ret.).
Also surviving are two sons, Captain Scott D. (and spouse Kim) Beach, USN (ret.), Virginia Beach; Captain Mark W. (and spouse Dr. Lynne) Beach, Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Joy Beach (and spouse Captain John USNR) Moynihan, Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Susan Ewert (and spouse the Rev. John) Wright, Bridgewater, N.J.
She was a Warsaw High School graduate and later attended DePauw University, Greencastle, for two years before transferring to the University of Houston (Texas), where she majored in radio and television productions. She worked at a commercial radio and TV station in Houston.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Cemetery.
