Though the weather Monday was more spring-like than Christmas time, the Breakfast Optimist Club delivered Santa’s House to the courthouse square anyway. The Optimist Club once again is sponsoring Santa’s House. This year, it will remain at the courthouse instead of moving over to Kmart where it traditionally has been. Santa will start accepting visitors during First Friday at the courthouse from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, the house will be open from 2 to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Hours Dec. 14 will be 6 to 8 p.m.; Dec. 15, from 2 to 7 p.m.; and Dec. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. The Octagon Club, which is a high school group sponsored by the Optimist Club, will assist. The students will serve as Santa’s helpers. The Breakfast Optimist Club serves the youth of the community. Nearly 90 members get together every Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast and a meeting.
