Samuel W. Baxter, 80, died at 12:05 a.m. March 5, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Salem, to Ben and Nellie Walton Baxter. On June 23, 1948, in Larwill, at Indiana Methodist parsonage, he married Mary Lou Schrader, who survives in Warsaw.

He lived most of his life in the Warsaw area. He was a salesman for Whitley County Motor Sales, retiring after 26 years on June 1, 1995. He was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw; and loved his dog, Tippy.

Also surviving are a son, David M. (and spouse Roberta) Baxter, Eddyville, Ky.; three daughters, Penny L. Daisy and Deloris A. (and spouse Joe) Clark, all of Mansfield, Ohio, and Sandra M. Rude, Warsaw; a brother, Eugene (and spouse Alice) Stewart, South Whitley; a sister, Martha Wise, Radcliff, Ky.; seven grandchildren: Charles (and spouse Kathy) Daisy, Scott Clark, Anne Clark, Kristin (and spouse Martin) Bustamante, Matthew (and spouse Bonnie) Daisy, Brian (and spouse Miranda) Clark and Gabriel Rude; 10 great-grandchildren: Amanda Sawyer, Tyler Daisy, Ryan Daisy, Abby Clark, Ariana Bustamante, Deonna Daisy, Kailie Daisy, Dillon Daisy, Taylor Clark and Trevor Deckard; and one great-grandchild, Ava Sawyer. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Nathalia Rude; her father, Ben Baxter, who died June 3, 1968; her mother, Nellie Baxter, who died in 1958; two sisters, Evelyn Sweany and Estile Bannister; and five brothers, Orville, Delbert, Roy and Donald Stewart, and Raymond Baxter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Gary Boschain, First Christian Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
