SYRACUSE - Samual L. Colbert, 65, of Cromwell, died at 5 a.m. June 4, 2010, in Avalon Village Nursing Home, Ligonier.
He was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Wabash, to Marlin and Mary Thompson Colbert. On Nov. 17, 1967, in Peru, he married Martha J. Cornelius, who survives.
He graduated from Wabash High School. He moved to the Cromwell/Syracuse area in 1969 from Peru. He formerly worked at Godfrey Marina, Elkhart, where he did research and development for several years; Chris Craft Boat Company; and Wawasee Boat Co., Syracuse. He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church, Syracuse, and the International Model Power Boat Association.
Also surviving are a daughter, Angela Colbert, Michigan; a son, Scott (and spouse Brandie) Colbert, Warsaw; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church, Syracuse, with Father Larry Biller officiating.
Calling is one hour prior to service Saturday at the church.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
