Sammy Ealey, 60, of Warsaw, passed away at 4:48 p.m. Jan. 4, 2012, in his residence.

He was born Jan. 15, 1951, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Sam and Naoma Kendrick Ealey. On Feb. 13, 1970, he married Dean Hall, who survives.

A retired foundryman, he formerly worked at Archer, Dalton and Warsaw foundries. He owned The Lawn Mower Shop, Claypool, and was affectionately known as “The Lawn Mower Man.” He was a Warsaw,  resident since 1969. He was co-founder of Overseer, and was music director and director of maintenance at Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, Claypool. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Also surviving are two daughters, Michelle Lee Worley, Warsaw, and Creassa (and spouse Walter Jr.) Blackburn, Mentone; a grandson, Blake Bayz, Mentone; honorary mother, Mary Kendrick, Warsaw; two sisters, Natalie (and spouse Deed) Elliott and Yvonne (and spouse Donnie) Goble, all of Prestonsburg; three uncles, Delmar Kendrick, Carl Kendrick Jr. and Harold Goble; and three aunts, Mildred Crace, Amy Conley and Betty Kendrick. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Lance Michael Worley; a brother, David Carl Ealey; and his parents.

Dean will remember him as a wonderful husband, Michelle as superdaddy and Blake as heroic popaw.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, 6800 S. Ind. 15, Claypool, with Pastor Dean Ealey officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday with a music service at 7 p.m. and also from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a evening service at 7 p.m. at the church.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
