We appreciate everyone calling about the closing of the Salvation Army Family Store.
First of all, we are not leaving town! We have been in Kosciusko County since 1921 and at our Worship and Community Center since 1957. The Salvation Army is here "meeting human need in the name of Jesus Christ" as we have for 86 years.
Our Adult Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne is still searching for a store with at least 10,000 square feet to meet our needs. They hope to open again some time in the near future.
The ARC serves 55 men with drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. We refer men on a regular basis to this program from Kosciusko County. The Adult Rehabilitation Center is funded entirely with donations from the public and does not receive any governmental monies. Your donations are important as we address the growing problem of addiction in our county, so we will have collection boxes placed around town. When we get them placed, we will notify the public.
Again, thanks to everyone who has called or stopped by concerned about The Salvation Army. We appreciate the support of Kosciusko County as we reach out to those in need.
