Sally Sittler Wilson, 58, of Warsaw, passed away at 3:44 p.m. March 20, 2012, in her residence.
She was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Rochester, to Dale M. and Phyllis M. Baker Sittler. On March 21, 1981, in Fort Wayne, she married Robert Wilson, who survives.
She lived most of her life in Warsaw and Silver Lake and 10 years in Fort Wayne.
She was an attorney for 33 years, during which time she practiced general law, family law and estate law and became certified in estate planning. She owned Wilson Law Office for the past seven years, where she practiced estate planning.
Growing up she was very active in sports. She was a catcher for the law school intramural softball team at Valparaiso University. She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1972 and in 1979 earned the doctorate of jurisprudence from Valparaiso University. She was a past president of the Women Lawyers Association, Fort Wayne; a member of the Indiana Bar Association and Church of God, Warsaw. She was on the board of directors at YCL Ministries. She enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking. She was extremely intelligent and vivacious and had great perspective and mercy. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife and mom. She and her sister, Polly, were known as “the two little girls.” After the death of her parents she became the glue that held the family together. She was the family historian. When the children were young she drew a distinct line between being their friend and their mom but as they became adults she became their friend. Although she practiced the difference between her role as an attorney and a mom, she was always available to her children. She always had great words of wisdom to share. The friends of her children loved her dearly, she was known to them as Mama Wilson. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and colleagues.
Also surviving are two sons, Ezekiel W. (and spouse Amanda) Wilson, Bremen, and Zachariah P. Wilson, Anderson; two daughters, Abigail E. Wilson (and fiance Bradley Dupay) Valparaiso, and Victoria D. Wilson, Warsaw; a brother, Dan Sittler, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Susan (and spouse Michael) Johnston, South Bend, and Polly (and spouse Tom) Sims, Huntington; and a brother-in-law, Alan Reed, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Phyllis Sittler, and a sister, Lucinda A. Sittler Reed
