The Franklin I. and Irene List Saemann Foundation was created by the Saemanns to benefit culture, education and health care.
The primary mission of the Foundation as established by the Saemanns is to support Wartburg College, a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, founded by Irene List Saemann's grandfather, Georg Grossman.
The Foundation, in addition, regularly makes grants that benefit libraries, volunteer programs, hospitals, colleges and other organizations.
Franklin I. and Irene List Saemann were longtime residents of Warsaw and supporters of the community, so the trustees of the Foundation also take into consideration applications from Kosciusko County. Saemann was one of the pioneers of the orthopedic industries.
