Staff Report-
Recently, Sacred Heart School culminated their all-school Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering the Arts and Math (STREAM) unit with their annual culture fair. The fair focused on 11 different cultures around the world. Over 300 people attended the citywide event. Students spent several weeks studying the people, arts, cultures, animals, foods, climate, languages and religions of their own culture. Technology was used to research, demonstrate and prepare reports of the countries. The STREAM unit of study is culminated with a night of presentations and food native to the individual cultures. The event was the result of much effort and learning. To culminate the culture fair evening, everyone gathered in the gym to sing “It’s a Small World” in English and in the many languages of the different cultures celebrated. One student prepared a video presentation to share with the school in order to commemorate the event. The video will be shared at the 2014 National Catholic Educational Association STREAM Symposium Conference in June at the University of Dayton.
