S. Maxine Goon, 88, died at 11:50 p.m. Feb. 11, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born June 27, 1924, in Kosciusko County, to Elmer and Harriett Marie Carey Woods. On Feb. 3, 1946, in Kosciusko County, she married Junior G. Goon, who died Feb. 5, 1995. She attended Burket Schools. She was a perfect homemaker and a perfect mom. She was a great neighbor to all and always had a smile and a giggle. She loved Gaither music; to travel and go to casinos; listening to polk music; reading; scrapbooking; and babysitting grandchildren. She wanted to go to Hooters for her 80th birthday. She enjoyed attending Brittny’s dancing and singing activities. Supper was always on the table when her husband came home from work. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (and spouse Buzz) Keck, Celina, Ohio, and Sally Goon, Leesburg; two sons, Randy Goon and Tim (and spouse Amy) Goon, all of Warsaw (Chapman Lake); a sister, Gloria (and spouse Maynard) Wade, Warsaw; eight grandchildren: Michelle (and spouse Steve) Houser; Rachelle Brown; Rachael Mason (and partner Melissa); Mindy Hrebin; Jason (and spouse Mary), Joshua and Derek Goon; and Ashlie (and spouse Jeremy) Marvel; and six great-grandchildren: Payton and Madeline Cromlich; Zachary and Rylie Houser; and Brittny and Cayden Goon. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Willodean “Sadie” Summy, and four brothers, Donald, Dick, Lloyd and Billy Woods. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rod Mayer officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
